Clayton "Dad" Keaunui Ah Quin Sr. 62 yrs. old returned with Honor to our Heavenly Father, surrounded by his loving family and his Queen on September 10, 2013 at 12:30am. Our Loving Father was born on Sept. 27th 1950 to Joseph Keaunui Ah Quin and Henrietta Bee Ah Quin in Honolulu Hawaii, raised in Hauula on the beautiful north shore of Hawaii.
At 18 yrs old he was love struck by a carton of orange juice and a beautiful striking green eyed German Samoan cheerleader, Irene Maugatula Hannemann after his football game. Even though being raised in paradise our father chose to leave and follow his beautiful girlfriend to California on a football scholarship. Clay and Irene were sealed for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles temple in 1969.
After having two children and the love of a big family, our Dad decided to put off dreams of football and focus his attention to becoming the husband, father and patriarchal leader of his seven kids and 27 grand kids and his Queen.
Our father served as a Sunday school teacher, young mens president, elders quorum counselor, High Council, Bishop, Branch Presidency at the youth purgatory... but his favorite calling was that of a home teacher; but his GREATEST calling was that of a Father, Grandfather and a devoted Husband.
Our Amazing Dad showed great humility in his many occupational opportunities from flipping hamburgers at McDonalds to becoming a supervisor for Garrett Air Research to changing lives at Liahona Academy which he named and was co- owner and took great joy in his role as activities director while changing the lives of many young men who have always looked up to him and called him "Dad"
While being our Super Hero Dad and always supporting all of our many dance concerts, sporting events and family activities he also found the time to train and teach life lessons to his posterity by accomplishing one of his life long dreams finishing 10 consecutive St. George Marathons and benching 405 lbs until the age of 50!! "That's our Super Hero Dad". His greatest pastime and one that many people knew him by was his beautiful voice. He loved to sing and he took pride in participating in different events around the community. His voice touched many hearts and people came to hear him. We would tease him about putting on a concert when he was asked to sing for different events. Every time he sang, his biggest fan-the love of his life was there in the audience and he would sing to her and end by pointing her out. We will miss his voice but they are enjoying it in heaven.
Our Loving Father, Grandpa and Husband is survived by his loving Babe, Irene Ah Quin; his seven children and spouses: Tonya Ah Quin (Bryan) Horlacher, Clayton (Julee Mair) Ah Quin, Max (Sunshine Downing) Ah Quin, Joe (Janette Haws) Ah Quin, Irene Ah Quin, Jr., Adam (Rebecca Smith) Ah Quin, Tia Ah Quin (Andy) Stokes; his 27 grandchildren: Cambria Horlacher (Jeff) Hauck, Cecilee Horlacher, Kiana Ah Quin, Jaden Ah Quin, Trevor Horlacher, Tayvia Ah Quin, Sydnee Horlacher, Raya Ah Quin, Lisia Wolframm, Devan Smith Lemmon, Josh Smith Lemmon, Ammon Ah Quin, Joseph Tamasamoa (JT) Ah Quin, Hannemann Wolfgramm, Teancumm Wolframm, Janessa Ah Quin, Keawe Ah Quin, Kalli Ah Quin, Major Stokes, Avenna Ah Quin, Tristan Ah Quin, Legend Stokes, Kalea Ah Quin, Joelle Ah Quin, Tia Ah Quin and Maze Stokes; and his siblings: Almira Mapuana Ah Quin Ah You (Jr. Ah You) and brother, Elliott Ah Quin (Mackey Ah Quin)
Our dear father will be reuniting with his wonderful parents, Joseph Keaunui and Henrietta Bee Ah Quin; his father-in-law, Max Seiuli Young Hannemann; (his priesthood mentor) and mother-in-law, Irene Dole Hannemann; and his little "Earth Angel" granddaughter, Tierra Irene Wolfgramm.
